Biological maturity and running performance #bettertobemature

Objectives

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of biological maturity on measures of running fitness and running performance in both training and competition in junior Australian football.

Although this information may seem obvious this is important when recruiting into the AFL. Those that have more mature bodies will develop much quicker and may possibly not be as likely to break down under the increase in training loads.

This needs to be studied further but it is good food for thought.
